Winsor & Newton

Winsor & Newton has always been core to the world of art materials. Winsor & Newton proudly maintain the pledge of manufacturing “The World’s Finest Artists’ Materials”.

From the very beginning, Winsor & Newton brought scientific rigour and a new spirit of enquiry to the craft of the artists’ colourman. Within a few short years, Winsor & Newton set new standards for colour permanence and clarity. Winsor & Newton introduced new colours and new opportunities for artists, establishing a proud tradition marked by constant improvement and continuous response to ever-changing needs.

The founders, Henry Newton and William Winsor were involved with the leading artists of their time - J.M.W Turner for example - and to this day, strive to keep up with the latest developments in the art world and take an active interest in what artists say.

Winsor & Newton have built their reputation on the quality and reliability of their products, combined with continual product development, improvement and innovation. However, while keeping true to the principles laid down by William Winsor and Henry Newton in the 1800’s, Winsor & Newton actively embrace new ideas, new technologies and search the world for the best raw materials available. Above all, Winsor & Newton work with and respond to the needs of artists, providing them with new opportunities to explore their creativity.
