The Conté à Paris brand was founded in France, 1794 when Nicholas Jacque Conté invented the modern pencil by mixing clay with graphite, thus making it possible to create different grades of softness and hardness.  

The Conté à Paris range is today, internationally well known for its high quality and broad assortment of crayons and pencils, suitable for all drawing, sketching and pastel techniques.
